The field trip take place on Friday 15 June 2018.

A full-day trip will provide participants with an opportunity to visit magnificent sandy dunes of the Curonian Spit – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Field trip will start at 8:15 am.. We will got to the largest town – Nida on the Curonian Spit where we will visit Parnidis sand dune, rising up to 52 meters above sea level. From the observation deck equipped on the top of the dune you will enjoy spectacular views of the town of Nida and its surroundings. Later we will have short excursion in Nida town. After the lunch the trip will continue further to Nagliai nature reserve – one of the most impressive landscape elements of the Curonian Spit, protecting the Dead dunes – a place for habitats of rare plants, included in the Red Book, four villages and two old cemetery sites that are hiding under the sand. Walking along the trail more than a thousand meters long you will see spectacular ravines created by strong winds in the dunes, or be surprised with century-old forest soils when they sometimes emerge intermittently buried under the sand. On the way back to Klaipėda we will visit Juodkrante town and impresive Cormorant colony.
