  • Mid-conference excursion

Field trip to the Nemunas River floodplain. The Nemunas River delta is one of the most important staging area for geese on migration route from Western Europe towards the Russian Arctic. Annually the site is visited by 1-1.5 million geese (Greater White-fronted, Bean, Greylag, Barnacle and Lesser White-fronted Geese). During peak migration, 50,000-75,000 geese concentrate in the area, predominantly Greater White-fronted Geese.
